We have been working closely with »United Navigation« since 2010 and have been designing the user interface for the »Becker« navigation devices ever since. We are also responsible for the printed »Quick Start Guides« and various advertising material.

At IFA 2015, the first software running on Android was presented. It is basically oriented on the previous version, but has been redesigned in many details. The start screen with the visible map remained unchanged, the map section has only become a little larger. Depending on the device, a “back button” is omitted and supplemented by a status bar with software “back button”, further information and functions.
On the map itself, new functions have been added that help to make the journey even clearer and more informative. The entire appearance is based on tablet applications, which are characterised by a capacitive display. This makes it possible to control certain functions via multitouch. In addition, space-consuming operating elements such as scroll buttons can be dispensed with.
Year after year, functions and options have been added and optimized. With ever newer hardware and higher resolution, the entire system was scaled to 7 inches at the beginning of 2014. All basic screens and icons were optimized pixel-perfect for the new display.
The first »Becker« generation of devices, which was presented under United Navigation 2010, was characterised by the magnifying glass to the map and a tidy, clear appearance of the “user interface”, which we developed in close cooperation with the ergonomics
department of Becker and coordinated together. Since then, we have been busy constantly developing the appearance further and visualising new functions in a comprehensive and aesthetically sophisticated way.
