In 2012, the manufacturer »Festo« approached us and wanted to know how an industry standard could be modernised in terms of design without having to sacrifice functionality and clarity.
Services: Development of design guidelines, pixel-precise vector-based implementation, icons, creation of a style guide.
The aim was to achieve a contemporary »look and feel« that would also be accepted and seen as a useful addition in the industrial environment. The buttons and the colour scheme were adapted to previous “blister buttons” of the predecessor hardware.
The different and complex possibilities of operation were usability tested with test persons on site, in order to respond to wishes and possible problems. Further technical details from Festo can be seen here
